Yes, it’s a shared blog. A common interest brought us together as we’ve both come to find out the hard way, that baking (however fun) can be dramatically stressful; and well, it’s safe to say that we’ve had experiences worth sharing.
Here’s hoping that through our baking adventures and misadventures, we can help friends, family, and fellow baking enthusiasts, with “how to”s, ingredient substitutions, book reviews, troubleshooting and the likes.
We’re raising a cupcake to wish ourselves good luck!
Here you will find the inner workings of a person who often makes (lets hope not in the case of this blog) the wrong decision, enjoys both tea and coffee wholeheartedly and impartially *ghasp* and is an advocate of all food items that contain an obsessive amount of butter.
I have not had a passion for baking since I was a child, but rather it has been since the fine morning when I made chocolate cookies and they weren’t terrible! They actually turned out quite nice, as did some of my other desserts since then. I would have liked to say that I found my calling, but alas! Split frosting and fallen cakes tell me I still have a long road ahead.
Just another undergrad student struggling to meet deadlines, get out of bed in the morning and basically keep life in order in the wonderfully unpredictable city of Dhaka. Love for all things sweet is a trait I have inherited from my family, but baking is something I’ve learned all by myself. What keeps me going is the prospect that I have so much left to learn. For now, I’ll leave you with a quote from a movie that I can identify with:
“You know what I love about baking. I love that when after a day when nothing is sure, and when I say “nothing”, I mean nothing, you can come home and absolutely know that if you add egg yolks to chocolate and sugar and milk, it will get thick. It’s such a comfort.” -Julie and Julia.
